Less than a decade ago, I was living below the poverty line working in the service industry. I know that a combination of privilege, luck, and community support got me into a much better place. I want everyone to know that empowering feeling in their life and in their business.

Nobody loves KC like people who live in KC. It’s a thing, and I’m part of it. My happy places are all local spots. Favorite dive? Lucky Boys. Favorite coffee shop? Monarch. Favorite downtime activity? Going by myself to a Royals day game, having a couple of beers, and talking to nobody.
INFRASTRUCTURE.
Did you know there are whole teams of people sweating their asses off in hardhats and steel-toed boots every day just to make it so KC has running water and sewage? I’ve had the pleasure of photographing one of those teams throughout the past year. Can confirm: they are badasses. Hardhat Wednesdays are my FAVORITE!
